We found out today that Carey's Uncle John decided life was boring and that it needed spicing up; he was in a skiing accident and is now residing in the ICU. He fell harder than expected going over a jump and wound up with several cracked ribs out of the deal. One of his lungs collapsed which is ok now but he still has several air bubbles roaming around that they're trying to neutralize. On an ironic note, he supplies medical equipment to the very hospital he's residing in so he's hooked up to his own stuff. He's in a good mood at the time and rather chipper with all the meds.
